WALTHAM, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team was shutout by Bentley, 4-0, in game two of the Atlantic Hockey Semifinal Round Saturday night at the Bentley Arena.
Holy Cross closes their season with an 18-18-2 record, while Bentley (22-11-5) punched their ticket to next Saturday's championship game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bentley opened the scoring halfway through the first period, before extending their lead to 2-0 just under five minutes into the second period.
- Pulling the netminder for an extra attacker, Holy Cross thought they had cut the Falcons' lead in half with just under five minutes to play, but a Bentley challenge for goaltender interference wiped the score off the books.
- Holy Cross pulled the netminder again for the extra attacker, but this time Bentley was able to find it for the 3-0 lead with 2:33 to play in regulation. The Falcons would score again 29 seconds later for the 4-0 win.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Freshman Danick Leroux recorded 26 saves in net.
- Junior Jack Stockfish led both sides with 14 faceoff wins, as Holy Cross held the slight edge at the faceoff dot, 33-32.
UP NEXT:
- The 2025-2026 season is now complete for the Crusaders.
