WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Holy Cross baseball team dropped a 5-1 decision to Patriot League foe Army West Point Saturday afternoon at Doubleday Field.

The setback sends the Crusaders to 5-12, 1-1 PL on the year while the Black Knights improve to 7-9, 1-1 PL.

Junior second baseman Alex Sandell bashed his third home run of the season and his fourth multi-hit effort of the campaign. Junior center fielder Gianni Royer has extended his hitting streak to nine games following a 2-for-4 showing. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Pedro Leon matched his career-high with five strikeouts across four frames.
