Halligan named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass.- Holy Cross women's soccer fifth-year midfielder Sam Halligan was named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on Monday, Oct. 26, for competition from Oct. 19-25.

Halligan picked up her second career Patriot League weekly award after scoring the equalizing goal in a 1-1 draw against Boston University on Friday, Oct. 23. She leveled the match after redirecting a corner kick with a left-footed strike into the upper-left corner of the goal in the 32nd minute.

The goal gave Halligan her sixth of the season, 10th as a Crusader and the 21st of her collegiate career. Despite missing five games of the season with injury, Halligan still ranks third in the Patriot League for total goals (6) and leads the league in total points per game (1.27).

Halligan was last recognized on Aug. 24 after posting seven points across two games to help lead the Crusaders to early season victories over Stonehill and Brown. That effort also earned her a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week on Aug. 26
