WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross volleyball sophomore outside hitter

Drew Flanagan have been voted the Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
This is the second career weekly honor for Sorensen and her first weekly top player selection. Flanagan earned weekly honors for the first time in her collegiate career.
Sorensen started and played in the Crusaders' fourth straight win, a five-set, 3-2 victory versus Bucknell. She recorded a contest-high 21 kills with 10 digs and a pair of aces, hitting .208 off 72 total attacks in the win at home. It was Sorensen's second straight double-double, 10th in 2026 and 17th in her career.
The sophomore has a trio of 20+ kill performances in 2026 while leading the Patriot League in kills (286) and total points (324) while ranking third in points (3.86) and fourth in kills (3.40) per set during 2026. During conference bouts, Sorensen leads the league in kills (139), kills per set (3.86), total points (153), and points per set (4.25).
Flanagan started and played at setter last Saturday against Bucknell. The newcomer tallied a contest-best 44 assists with eight digs, three total blocks, a pair of kills and an ace in the win at home. Flanagan has posted 30+ assists in six straight matches and has a pair of 40+ assist showings in 2026.
During 2026, ranks fourth in the Patriot League in assists (376) and fourth in assists per set (5.78). In Patriot League contests, she ranks third in assists (223) and third in assists per set (7.43).
