The Holy Cross men's basketball team will host Patriot League foe American on Saturday, Jan. 24 at noon in the Hart Center Arena. The contest will stream live on ESPN+ with Kevin Gehl (play-by-play) and Jorge Bannister (analyst) on the call.

Saturday is the Coaches vs. Cancer and Healthcare Heroes Day presented by St. Vincent Hospital. All healthcare heroes can receive two free tickets to the game and all healthcare heroes will be entered to win a Holy Cross Athletics flex voucher.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (8-12, 3-4 PL): 

• Holy Cross is coming off an 85-68 defeat at the hands of Navy on Wednesday evening in Annapolis. Freshman forward Aiden Disu scored a team-high 18 points shooting 60 percent (6-for-10) from the field with two boards and two assists.
• Sophomore guard Tyler Boston was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday by the league office. He averaged 19.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Crusaders while shooting 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the field and 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from three-point range across 32.4 minutes per game. 
• Per sports-reference.com, junior guard/forward Joe Nugent is the fourth best offensive player in the Patriot League in offensive rating (124.1).
• Holy Cross Athletics announced on Monday, Dec. 22nd that the court in the Hart Center Arena will be dedicated and named in honor of Crusader and NBA legend Bob Cousy. A formal dedication of the Bob Cousy '50 Court will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 prior to the game against Lehigh on Winter Homecoming Weekend.
• Holy Cross is the eighth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (326th). They rank 314th (101.9) in offensive rating and 309th (117.1) in defensive rating.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES (12-8, 5-2 PL): 

• American has won three straight games including a 70-66 win at home against Colgate on Wednesday. Madden Collins scored 12 points and had 12 rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
• Greg Jones was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday by the league office. Jones averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from the field.
• The Eagles pace the Patriot League and rank 60th in the NCAA in bench points per game (29.4).
• As a team through seven conference games, American has one of the best defensive units in the Patriot League ranking second in scoring defense (66.1), second in opponent field goal percentage (43.2) and third in opponent three-point percentage (30.3).
• American is the third ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (210th). They rank 234th (107.0) in offensive rating and 195th (111.1) in defensive rating.

LAST TIME THEY MET: 

• Holy Cross is 25-30 (.454) in the series history against American which began back in 1967. The Crusaders are 14-12 (.538) in the Hart Center Arena against the Eagles.
• In their last meeting on Jan. 10, 2026 the Crusaders earned an 84-73 win in D.C. Tyler Boston scored 19 points with three boards and three assists.
