BALTIMORE, Md. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Loyola (Md.) 1-0 at the Ridley Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 3-4-3 overall and 0-1-2 in the Patriot League, while the Greyhounds improve to 2-6-1 on the year and 1-2-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The only goal of the day came in the 40th minute, when Charlie Herley headed in a Jack Endacott free kick from six yards out in the center.
• Holy Cross had a few good scoring chances of its own, but was unable to convert as Loyola pulled out the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Greyhounds finished the game with a 13-7 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
• The loss snapped a five-game unbeaten streak for the Crusaders.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30, when it plays host to Massachusetts at 6 p.m.
