WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior captain Ali Sniegocki and sophomores Ava Gambichler and Emma Pietrzak of the Holy Cross softball team have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
Sniegocki, an economics major, earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.670, concluding the spring of her junior year. She started in all 45 games on the season in center field and slashed .252/.298/.457 on 38 hits, 13 doubles, six home runs, 15 runs scored and 17 RBIs. She took eight walks and stole four bases while making 90 putouts and three assists in center field for the Crusaders. The captain led the Crusaders in slugging percentage, runs scored, RBIs, doubles, home runs and total bases taken. She was second on the team in stolen bases and hits. She was fourth in the league for doubles and sixth in home runs. The Pennsylvanian contributed to every Holy Cross win, but one, on the year, either scoring or batting in a runner. Most notably, she went 1-for-4, scoring one run, crushing a two-RBI double in the 6-5 victory over Army on Apr. 13.
Gambichler, an architectural studies major, earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.920, concluding the spring of her sophomore year. She started as an infielder in 30 of the 33 games she appeared in during the 2025 campaign. The New Yorker slashed .197/.247/.250 on 15 hits, four doubles, eight runs scored and seven RBIs. She took two walks and stole four bases while making 59 putouts and 46 assists in the field for the Crusaders. Most notably, she went 1-for-3, scoring one run and hitting an RBI single to right field in the 5-4 victory over Merrimack on Apr. 2.
Pietrzak, a political science major, earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.710, concluding the spring of her sophomore year. She started as an infielder in 37 of the 38 games she appeared in during the 2025 campaign. The Ohio native slashed .137/.248/.179 on 13 hits, one double, one home run, eight runs scored and eight RBIs. She took 13 walks and stole one base while making 161 putouts and nine assists in the field for the Crusaders. Most notably, she went 3-for-4, scoring two runs, demolishing a solo home run and cracking an RBI single to right field in extra innings to help Holy Cross to the 7-4 win over Saint Peter's on Mar. 1.
The Holy Cross softball team concluded the 2025 season with an 8-37 overall and 1-17 conference record.
