Softball announces the addition of Sophia Hannappel to the program

WORCESTER, Mass- The Holy Cross softball program announced the addition of infielder Sophia Hannappel to its roster for the 2027 season this week. Hannappel will join the Crusaders this fall as a sophomore transfer from Manhattan University with three years of eligibility remaining.

"We are excited to be adding Sophia and her family to our program", said head softball coach Jon Ladino. "Throughout the transfer process it was clear that Sophia was passionate about Holy Cross and exhibits the character and competitiveness we look for in our student-athletes. We look forward to her and as well as the incoming class of 2030 joining our team on the hill this fall."

Recorded a pair of hits against Marist on April 29, 2026
Her sister, Talia Hannappel played softball for the University of New Mexico (2021) and the University of North Carolina (2022-2024)
