HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Holy Cross softball team concluded the regular season series finale at Colgate on Sunday, Apr. 27. The Crusaders fell short 3-2 to the Raiders.
CRUSADERS 2, RAIDERS 3 (FINAL)
STARTING IN THE CIRCLE:
- Holy Cross: Jordan Goedel (L, 2-16), 6.2 innings pitched, three hits allowed, three runs, three earned, one strikeout.
- Colgate: Maya Servedio, 5.0 innings pitched, eight hits allowed, two runs, two earned, one strikeout.
IN RELIEF:
- Colgate: Mikala Ham (W, 6-3), 2.0 innings pitched, one strikeout.
STEPPING TO THE PLATE:
- Anna Brait: 2-for-3, one run scored.
- Kate Trudgen: 1-for-4, one run scored.
- Jillian Herbst: 2-for-4, one RBI.
- Quinn Livesay: 1-for-3, two RBIs.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the third on a Quinn Livesay two RBI single.
- The Crusaders tied the game in the top of the sixth. Junior Anna Brait putting the ball in play to move teammate Kate Trudgen to third, Trudgen scored on an overthrow to third. Senior captain Callie Thibault hit a single to left field to move Brait to third and was brought home by teammate Maya Gallagher on the RBI sacrifice fly for the 2-2 score.
- Colgate's Jillian Herbst hit a RBI single to left center field to walk off the game 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh.
UP NEXT:
- The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, May. 3 to host Bucknell for the final Patriot League regular season series and Alumni/90-Wide Day at Freshman Field in Worcester, Mass.
- First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
