Holy Cross men’s ice hockey senior goaltender Thomas Gale, along with a pair of alumni — forward Alec Cicero and defenseman Jack Robilotti — signed deals with teams in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Four from men’s ice hockey sign ECHL deals

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross men's ice hockey senior goaltender Thomas Gale, along with three alumni — forwards Alec Cicero and Matt Guerra and defenseman Jack Robilotti — signed deals with teams in the ECHL.

Gale signed an amateur tryout (ATO) with the Wheeling Nailers (Wheeling, WV - Pittsburgh Penguins) on March 28. Gale is coming off a career season with the Crusaders, in which he finished 24-13-2 in 39 starts, recording a .927 save percentage and 2.14 goals-against average. Gale's 24 victories this season broke the Crusaders' 19-year-old record of 22, set in the Crusaders' historic 2005-2006 season.

Gale finished his career at Holy Cross with 37 wins, the fourth-most in the school's Division I era. His career .513 win percentage and 2,109 saves also rank fourth, while his .917 save percentage is tied for second, and his 2.41 goals-against ranks third.

Cicero signed a standard player contract (SPC) to join the Worcester Railers (Worcester, Mass. - New York Islanders), making his debut in the Railers' March 21 matchup at the Maine Mariners, recording an assist. Cicero played 130 games for the Crusaders from 2020-2024, recording 48 points on 20 goals and 28 assists, before joining Canisius for his fifth year in 2024-25, suiting up in 34 games and recording 17 points on eight goals and nine assists for the Golden Griffins.

Robilotti signed a SPC with the Bloomington Bison (Bloomington, Ill. - New York Rangers), making his debut on March 28 in the Bison's matchup against the Fort Wayne Komets. Robilotti played 126 games for the Crusaders from 2020-2024, recording 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, before joining UMass Lowell for his fifth year in 2024-25, suiting up in 35 games for the Riverhawks, picking up six points on two goals and four assists.

Guerra signed a SPC with the Wichita Thunder (Wichita, Kan. - San Jose Sharks) on March 30. Guerra played 115 games for the Crusaders from 2021-2024, recording 66 points on 22 goals and 44 assists, before joining Sacred Heart for his fifth year in 2024-25, suiting up in 39 games for the Pioneers, picking up 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists.
