STORRS, Conn. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team traveled to UConn for the regular season series finale on Saturday, Feb. 8. A first-period goal by the Huskies led to a 1-0 victory over the Crusaders on the road.
BETWEEN THE PIPES:
- Holy Cross: Brooke Loranger (L, 3-5-1), 41 saves
- Providence: Tia Chan (W, 12-5-2), 24 saves
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Midway through the first period, UConn's Jada Habisch poked the puck in off a scramble in front of the Crusaders net at 8:21.
- Neither team scored in the second period. Loranger made eight saves while the Crusaders took 11 shots in the period.
- The Crusaders fired eight shots in the last three minutes of the game with an empty net but came up short. The Huskies took the 1-0 victory.
- UConn led Holy Cross 42-24 in shots on goal and 26-22 in face-offs to conclude the game.

- The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 when they host Vermont for their 25th Anniversary and Alumnae Day game at 7:00 pm in the Hart Center Rink.
