WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior
Simone Foreman scored a team-high 20 points as the Holy Cross women's basketball team picked up a massive Patriot League win defeating Colgate 59-55 snapping their six game winning streak in the Hart Center Arena Wednesday evening.
Foreman's 20 points came in 27 minutes off the bench for the Crusaders (17-10, 10-6 PL). It was her biggest point total and most minutes played since returning from injury. She grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, had three assists, shot 5-of-10 (50 percent) from the field and 8-of-9 (88.9 percent) at the line. Colgate (21-8, 11-5 PL) had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds left, but Foreman stole the ball away sealing the win for Holy Cross.

Kaitlyn Flanagan (11 points) reached double digits with Flanagan handing out seven assists and blocking a pair of shots. For Colgate, Morgan McMahon dropped a game-best 27 points in the setback
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Colgate scored the first seven points of the game to lead 7-0 at the 6:16 mark. Foreman canned a second chance triple making it 7-3 late in the first. A Flanagan mid-range connection put the Crusaders down two, 7-5. Colgate led 9-5 after one.
- Five straight markers by Foreman dropped the deficit to one, 11-10 with 8:08 left in the second. She gave the Crusaders the lead for the first time hitting two free throws. The run expanded to 11-4 for Holy Cross as they led 16-13. Holy Cross closed the quarter on a 13-6 run to lead by 10, 29-19 at the half.
- Junior Meg Cahalan sank a corner three-ball from Flanagan to build the lead to 32-21. Colgate scored the next eight points to trail 32-27. Junior Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly gained momentum back knocking down a triple 3:36 left for the 35-27 lead. Ahead by four, the hosts closed the stanza out producing their opponents 6-2 to lead 41-33 after 30 minutes.
- Foreman expanded the Crusader lead to nine, 45-36 using a nifty post score. A Raider 11-4 run following the Foreman make leveled the score 50-50 with under two minutes left. Donnelly drained a huge three from Berger gaining the edge back to the Crusaders 53-50 with 1:03 left. A pair of Colgate freebies put them down one, 53-52. A wide open Berger was fed by Donnelly underneath to reestablish the lead for Holy Cross with 28 seconds left. Ahead by five, a Colgate hoop and harm trimmed the margin to two. One of two at the line from Holy Cross kept them ahead by three before Foreman's theft.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Holy Cross outscored Colgate 24-to-10 in the second quarter as the Crusaders shot 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the field.
- Foreman was flawless in the first half scoring 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting, 2-of-2 from deep, and 3-of-3 at the line.
- After going 24-for-25 (96 percent) at the line in their last game, the Raiders were 12-for-17 (70.6 percent) at the stripe against the Crusaders.
- Holy Cross got 20 points from their bench all from Foreman. Colgate had zero bench points.
- Foreman has seven 20+ point efforts this season, the Crusaders are 6-1 (.857) in those games.
