ORONO, Maine – The Holy Cross women's hockey team traveled to Maine for game one of two on Friday, Feb. 21. The Black Bears took the 4-1 victory over the Crusaders in regulation.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Midway through the first period, junior assistant captain Alexia Moreau whipped a shot on goal that rebounded off the goalie right into the stick of sophomore forward Reghan Chadwick. Chadwick sent the puck up and over the goalie's left shoulder to score at 11:46. Junior defender Taylor Cantelon started the play for the second assist on the goal.
- Just 20 seconds into the second period, Stephanie Jacob fired a shot from the Crusader's top defensive face-off circle and found the back of the net to tie the game 1-1. Maine stole the lead with a goal by Ava Stevenson at 13:38. The Black Bears furthered their lead with another goal at 18:18 to end the second period with a 3-1 result.
- At 16:53 in the third period, Jacob scored her second goal of the game to ultimately give the Black Bears the 4-1 victory over the Crusaders
- Maine led Holy Cross 39-25 in shots on goal while both teams had 29 face-off wins a piece to conclude the game.
UP NEXT:
- The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 when they conclude the regular season with game two of the Maine series at 5:00 pm in the Harold Alfond Sports Arena.
