The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team returns to action when it heads to Vermont for a pair of games on Dec. 5 and 6. The Crusaders and the Catamounts will face off at 2 p.m. each day, with both games being shown live on ESPN+.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 12-6-1 with a 4-5-1 mark in Hockey East play. The Crusaders' 12 total victories this year are their most since the program joined Hockey East in 2018-2019. Freshman forward
Violet Carroll currently leads the team in scoring with 18 points on six goals and 12 assists. Freshman forward
Naemi Herzig has added six goals and nine assists for 15 points, while senior forward
Lane Lewis has 14 points on four goals and 10 assists. In net, senior goaltender
Abby Hornung stands 8-4-1 this season with a 1.62 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.
Vermont enters the week with an overall record of 6-10-2 and a 2-5-1 mark in Hockey East. The Catamounts have lost three of their last four games, and are coming off a 5-1 setback against Cornell on Nov. 29. Junior forward Stella Retrum leads the team in scoring with five goals and five assists for 10 points, while junior forward Rose-Marie Brochu has 10 points on one goal and nine assists. Junior goaltender Ellie Simmons stands 3-6-2 with a 2.97 goals against average and an .894 save percentage.
After the series with Vermont, Holy Cross will be off until Jan. 3, when it travels to Maine.
