WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore guard
Tyler Boston scored a team-high 19 points as the Holy Cross men's basketball team fell by an 89-64 score to Dartmouth Tuesday evening in the Hart Center Arena.
The loss snapped a four game winning streak for the Crusaders 5-7 while the Big Green evened up their record at 5-5.
Boston was 6-for-12 (50 percent) from the field and snagged five boards with two steals in the setback. He was joined in double-figures by junior guard/forward
Joe Nugent (13 points) and sophomore forward
Aidan Richard (11 points).
Dartmouth was led by Kareem Thomas who scored a game-high 24 markers during the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first six made shots of the game were three pointers with Nugent canning two and Boston hitting one for the 9-9 tie. Dartmouth split a pair of free throws to lead 12-11 a few possessions later.
- Holy Cross scored five straight points with junior guard John St. Germain III posting a pair of layups as the lead expanded to 16-12 under the 10 minute mark. Dartmouth's six plus minute scoreless stretch ended via a mid-range jumper making it 16-14. Following a junior guard/forward Gabe Warren three, the Big Green went on a 14-2 burst using a four point play to lead 28-21 with 2:58 left in the half. Boston was fouled on a jumper and drained the free throw pulling the Crusaders within four 30-26. Dartmouth led 35-26 at the break.
- Dartmouth came out of the locker room on a 13-4 run to build an 18 point, 48-30 lead. Their run grew to 25-11 jumping in front 60-37.
- The Big Green hot shooting continued as they built a game-high 30 point edge with 6:22 to play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Boston paced the Crusaders in scoring for the sixth time this season.
- The Big Green shot a season-best 55.4 percent (31-for-56) from the field and 58.3 percent (14-for-24) from deep.
- Dartmouth had two separate four point plays in the game.

- Holy Cross wraps up their nonconference slate on Saturday, Dec. 20 against Ivy League foe Harvard (5-6) at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast regionally on NESN.
