Two members of the Holy Cross football team earned Patriot League Player of the Week accolades, as announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 17. Junior linebacker Cam Santee was selected as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week and senior placekicker Luis Palenzuela was named Special Teams Player of the Week for their efforts in the Crusaders' 37-20 win over Bucknell on Nov. 15. 

Santee had a stellar all-around performance, recording a team-high 10 tackles, including eight solo, with two sacks and two forced fumbles. His forced fumble at the start of the third quarter led to a turnover and a field goal for the Crusaders; late in the fourth quarter, a fourth-down, 11-yard sack by Santee gave the Crusaders the ball back at the five-yard line, setting up a five-yard touchdown for Clerveaux to give Holy Cross a 37-20 lead.

This marks the second time this season that Santee has earned a weekly honor from the conference. He ranks third in the conference and in the top 15 nationally with 104 total tackles, and leads the Patriot League with 13 tackles for loss this season. 

Palenzuela connected on all three of his field goal attempts, and was a perfect 4-for-4 on PATs. His first field goal of the game, a 44-yarder, bested his previous career long of 34 — before his 46-yarder in the fourth quarter set a new career high. His 13 points in the game matched a career high, and the three field goals were the most made in a game in his career. 

This is the first weekly honor of Palenzuela's career; this is the fifth time a Crusader has earned Special Teams Player of the Week accolades this season. 

Holy Cross rounds out its 2025 season with a Patriot League matchup at Fenway Park on Saturday, Nov. 22 against Georgetown. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. in Boston for Holy Cross' first game at Fenway Park since 1956. Fans can purchase tickets by visiting redsox.com/holycrossfootball.
