HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Back-to-back junior outside hitter Taliah Lee kills put the Crusaders ahead 3-2 early in the first set. Three straight from Army pushed them in the lead at 7-5. Freshman outside hitter Emma Sorensen tied the game 8-8, but Army exploded for six straight markers, part of an 12-2 binge to double up the Crusaders 20-10. Three straight Black Knight miscues put Holy Cross down 22-16. They posted the final three points for the lead.
  • A Sorensen ace pushed the Crusaders ahead 4-2. Army took a one point lead, 12-11 midway through the set. Lee and freshman setter/right side KK Green moved the Crusader edge to 20-18 late. An Army block put them on the brink of a 2-0 match lead, 24-23. Sophomore middle blocker Lacey Murphy briefly leveled the score 24 all. A Crusader service error and an Army kill wrapped up the set 26-24.
  • Two straight blocks by Murphy, Lee, and Green expanded the edge to 5-2 Holy Cross in the third set. Behind by three, five in a row jumped them ahead 10-8. Freshman middle blocker Isa Glover converted a kill for the 11-10 edge. From there, a 10-2 Army scoring run put them ahead 20-13. They ended up winning the set 25-16.
