Sophomore punter
Ethan Moss of the Holy Cross football team has been named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Oct. 20.
Moss played a crucial role in Holy Cross' first win of the season, a 28-22 Patriot League victory at Richmond on Saturday, Oct. 18.
In the victory, he averaged 45.1 yards per punt on seven attempts, including a career best of 67 yards — tied for the second-longest punt in the Patriot League this year.
Two of his punts on Saturday were longer than 50 yards, and he also landed two punts inside the Spiders' 20-yard line, with one touchback. Late in the fourth quarter, Moss also pinned a 56-yard punt at Richmond's three-yard line to help preserve the Crusaders' lead.
This is the first weekly honor of Moss' career and the third time this season a Crusader has been named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, joining sophomore
Alijah Cason and senior
Max Mosey.
The Crusaders return home for their next two contests, starting with a Patriot League matchup vs. Colgate on Oct. 25. Kickoff at Fitton Field is set for 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from the
Holy Cross Ticket Office online or by calling
1-844-GO-CROSS.
