WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior guard Kaitlyn Flanagan of the women's basketball team has been named to the 2025-26 Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
Flanagan, a two-time captain, was an All-Patriot League second team honoree in 2024-25 after averaging 9.7 points per game and 5.2 assists per game, while also totaling 33 steals, 67 rebounds and 20 blocks.
Since her freshman season, Flanagan has started and played in every game (98) for the Crusaders. A year ago, she led the Patriot League in assists per game and total assists (160), with her assist average ranking 31st among all Division I players. She totaled six or more assists on 13 occasions.
The Pennsylvania native had a season-high of 21 points against Quinnipiac on Nov. 4 and a season-high 10 assists against Lafayette on Jan. 11. Flanagan also hit a career milestone of 400 assists against Army on March 5. She helped the team to the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament and to a 19-12 overall and 11-7 conference record.
The Crusaders were slated to finish in fourth place in the 2025-26 Patriot League preseason poll, after votes were tallied from head coaches. The Crusaders earned 60 points and a pair of first-place votes. Navy (71 points, two first-place votes), Army (68 points, two first-place votes) and Loyola (Md.) (63 points, three first-place votes) were chosen for a first, second and third place finish, respectively.
The Crusaders open their season on Monday, Nov. 3 at Boston College in Conte Forum. Fans can register for the FREE Crusader Tip-Off Event at the Oak Barrel Tavern (229 Grove Street, Worcester) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Tickets for the 2025-26 campaign are now on sale through the Holy Cross Ticket Office.
