WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated by Bucknell 1-0 at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. The Crusaders fall to 3-6-4 overall and 0-3-2 in the Patriot League, while the Bison improve to 7-2-3 on the year and 3-1-1in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was scoreless until the 86th minute, when Drew Roskos took a pass from Kasper Piela and put the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out in the center of the box.
• Holy Cross had some good scoring chances of its own, but was unable to convert as Bucknell pulled out the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• The Bison finished the game with a 12-7 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
• Sophomore goalkeeper
Alastair Hafner Schnee made a career-high five saves while allowing just one goal.
NEXT UP:
• Holy Cross returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when it travels to Stony Brook for a 6 p.m. game.
