WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's hockey team hosted New Hampshire for the regular season series finale on Friday, Jan. 31. A goal midway through the third period propelled the Wildcats to a 1-0 victory over the Crusaders.
BETWEEN THE PIPES:
- Holy Cross: Abby Hornung (L, 4-12-2), 32 saves
- New Hampshire: Sedona Blair (W, 11-12-0), 43 saves
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Neither team scored in the first or second period. Blair made 24 saves to Hornung's 17 with one period left to play.
- Midway through the third period, New Hampshire Marina Alvarez picked off a Crusader pass while on the penalty kill and netted a solo short-handed goal at 13:16. Despite a great effort of 19 shots on goal in the period, the Wildcats pulled out with the 1-0 win over the Crusaders.
- Holy Cross led New Hampshire 43-33 in shots on goal and 36-31 in face-offs to conclude the game.

- The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 to host Maine for the Senior Day and Pink The Rink at 1:00 pm. in the Hart Center Rink.
