WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team started the new calendar year with a 154-134 victory versus Patriot League opponent Colgate Friday afternoon in the Hart Center Pool.
The win levels the Crusaders record at 2-2 and 1-1 in league meets while the Raiders slide to 2-7, 0-5 PL.
The 400-yard medley relay team of junior
Jack Greiner, junior
Zach Bubonovich, junior
Alex Michael and freshman
Peter Mottolese hit the wall first at 3:29.19 adding 11 points to the team total early on in the meet.
Mottolese earned his second first place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.39) with senior
Patrick Walsh (1:46.25) following in second. Mottolese posted another first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (47.98).
Sophomore
Austin Cutcher brought home first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:09.16) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.52). Bubonovich finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.20) and Michael in the 100-yard butterfly (52.35).
In the diving events, sophomore
Luke Parada (269.93) and freshman
Griffin Casey (267.15) placed first and second in the three-meter dive. Casey (294.75) and Parada (231.38) were 1-2 on the one-meter boards.
Holy Cross will host Providence (0-4) in the Hart Center Pool on Saturday, Jan. 18 at noon.
