The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home to face American on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. The game between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+. This will be First Responders Day at the Hart Center, with
all police, fire and EMS workers eligible to claim two complimentary tickets to the game. It will also be Youth Day with a postgame autograph session and free ice cream for the first 100 kids in attendance.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 10-8 on the year, with a 2-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders stand 5-1 at home this season, including three straight wins. Freshman guard
Max Green leads the team by averaging 13.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Sophomore forward
Joe Nugent has added 13.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest, while senior forward
Caleb Kenney is chipping in with 12.1 points, 4.5 boards and 0.9 blocks per game.
American stands 9-9 overall this season, including a 3-2 record in the Patriot League. The Eagles are coming off a 73-54 victory at Loyola (Md.) on Monday. Senior forward Matt Rogers has led the team by averaging 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 53.7 percent of his field goal attempts. Senior guard Colin Smalls has put up 11.2 points per contest, with senior guard Elijah Stephens adding 10.8 points and 3.3 assists per game.
After the contest with American, Holy Cross will remain at home to face Army West Point at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
