Abby Hornung named to 2024-25 Women’s Goalie of the Year Award Watch List

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior goaltender Abby Hornung has been named 2024-25 National Women's Goalie of the Year Award Watch List, as announced by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Tuesday afternoon.

In 14 starts this season, Hornung has amassed a 2.10 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage, with a 4-10-0 record and 425 saves. Her .936 save percentage this season places her ninth in the nation.

Hornung is one of eight goaltenders selected from Hockey East next to Sedona Blair from New Hampshire, Grace Campbell from Boston College, Lisa Jönsson and Paige Taborski from Northeastern, Callie Shanahan from Boston University, Hope Wallinski from Providence and Megan Warrener from UConn.

This initial "Watch List" of outstanding goalies is comprised of those with a goals-against average of 2.10 or lower or a save percentage of .920 or higher. A committee of voters — made up of a cross-section of coaches, administrators, and media — will pare this list down within the next two weeks and then ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four.
