BALTIMORE, Md. – The Holy Cross women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 20 Navy 19-5 on Thursday evening in the 2024 Patriot League Semifinals at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
Navy (15-3) advances to the Patriot League Championship game on Saturday, May 4, against top-seeded and No. 7 nationally-ranked Loyola (Md.). Holy Cross falls to 12-6 overall.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• For the second straight game, freshman
Annabel Brennan tied her career high with three goals scored.
• Senior
Lauren Drillock scored her 43rd goal of the season and finished her Crusader career with 110 goals and 166 points.

Kelsey Minister scooped up a contest-best four ground balls which matched a season and personal-high. Minister and sophomore
Racheli Levy-Smith caused a game-best two turnovers apiece.
• Sophomore
Mackenzie Creagh made seven saves in the cage for the Crusaders.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Navy got on the board 4:20 into the contest. A free position goal at the media stoppage made it 4-0 and their scoring stretch grew to 5-0 with 5:22 left in the stanza.
• Brennan broke the Navy outburst, dodging through traffic at the 3:20 mark in the first as Holy Cross trailed 5-1 through one period.
• Drillock trimmed the deficit to three (5-2) 35 seconds into the second quarter. Back-to-back tallies off the shot of Lola Leone expanded the edge to 7-2. Brennan's second marker of the game made it 7-3. Navy rattled off five straight goals before leading 13-4 at the intermission.
• The Midshipmen outscored the Crusaders 6-1 in the second half.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Navy improved to 12-3 (.800) all-time in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals.
• In the fourth quarter, freshman Katie Avitabile scored her first collegiate goal for Holy Cross
