WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Bronagh Power-Cassidy, a member of the Holy Cross women's basketball team, has been selected as the 2023-2024 Crusader of the Year. The most prestigious student-athlete award presented by the Holy Cross Varsity Club, the Crusader of the Year goes to a senior who has excelled not only in varsity athletics, but also in the classroom and the community, and has been prominent in campus activities.
A two-year team captain, Power-Cassidy started 32 games for the Crusaders as a senior and was named first team All-Patriot League. She averaged 16.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 2023-2024, while hitting 40.0 percent (80 of 200) of her three-point field goal attempts. Power-Cassidy led the Patriot League in three-point percentage and three-pointers made, while ranking third in scoring. A two-time Patriot League Tournament most valuable player, she finished her career with 1,425 points, 445 rebounds, 165 assists, 98 steals and 76 blocks, while making 37.8 percent (196 of 518) of her three-pointers and 76.1 percent (159 of 209) of her free throws.
The 2024 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Power-Cassidy carries a 3.77 cumulative grade point average with a major in psychology. She is also a member of the Holy Cross Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a volunteer with Team IMPACT, Working for Worcester and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
