WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Lilly Feeney, a member of the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team, has been selected as the 2023-2024 winner of the Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award. Presented by the Holy Cross Varsity Club, the Allen Award goes to the player whose unselfish teamwork and dedication to the good of the team reflect the values lived by Coach Allen. The winning student-athlete need not be a star or even a starter, but a solid performer with an outstanding attitude whose contributions are not frequently recognized. The award is designed to recognize a student-athlete who is dedicated to the good of the team, possesses integrity, and is a great teammate.
A team captain during both her junior and senior seasons, Feeney's work ethic went above and beyond in everything she did, while she was unmatched with her care and concern for others. During her collegiate career, she played in 122 games for the Crusaders, totaling 35 points on 11 goals and 24 assists. Feeney also led Holy Cross to its first-ever Hockey East Tournament victory, with a 4-2 win at Boston University on Feb. 28, 2024.
Away from the ice, Feeney was a Student Wellness Peer Educator, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Hospice Compassionate Care. She was also a three-time selection to the Hockey East All-Academic Team and a two-time American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar.
