WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior forward
Liam McLinskey has been named a Second Team East All-American, the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced on Friday afternoon.
McLinskey becomes the second Crusader in the Division I era to be named an AHCA All-American, joining Tyler McGregor who earned third team honors following the 2005-06 season.
This season, McLinskey recorded 47 points on 19 goals and 28 assists in 39 games for the Crusaders. His points were the most since James Sixsmith recorded the same number in 2006-07, and his 28 assists were the most since Sixsmith and McGregor reached the mark in 2005-06.
The Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year, First Team selection, Scoring Champion, and Hobey Baker Top 10 finalist, McLinskey led the Crusaders in every offensive category, while leading Atlantic Hockey in points, points per game (1.21), and plus/minus (+23). His 13-game point streak from Jan. 13 to March 15 is the second-longest such streak in the Crusaders' Division I era. His 47 points this season are the seventh-most among eastern players.
