HAMILTON, N.Y. – Senior guard
Joe Octave totaled 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Colgate 81-64 in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament at Coterell Court. The Raiders improve to 23-9 overall and move on to face Bucknell in the semifinals, while the Crusaders conclude the season at 10-23.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross made 48.1 percent of its field goal attempts on the night, but hit just 29.2 percent of its attempts from three-point range.
• Colgate was able to connect on 56.9 percent of its shots from the floor and 47.1 percent of its three-pointers, while holding a 22-11 advantage in free throw attempts.
• Junior forward
Caleb Kenney finished the game with 14 points and seven rebounds, while senior guard
Bo Montgomery scored 11 points.
• The Raiders were led by Ryan Moffatt with 14 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Crusaders opened the game by claiming an early 4-0 lead, before Colgate scored nine of the next 11 points to pull in front.Â
• The Raiders later led 15-13, when they went on a 13-5 run to go up by double figures (28-18).Â
• Colgate was eventually in front 42-30 at halftime.
• Holy Cross started the second half with a 5-0 spurt to trim the deficit to seven (42-35), before the Raiders used a 9-2 run to take a 14-point lead (51-37).
• The Crusaders would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way, with Colgate pulling away down the stretch to win by 17.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Octave finished his career averaging 19.3 points per game in Patriot League Tournament action, the second-best mark ever by a Holy Cross player.
