Women’s basketball ends regular season at home against Lafayette

The Holy Cross women's basketball program ends their 2023-24 regular season with a home contest on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. against Patriot League opponent Lafayette in the Hart Center Arena. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (16-12, 10-7 PL): 
  • Holy Cross fell to league opponent Boston University 66-63 Saturday in a Turnpike Trophy battle. Senior Bronagh Power-Cassidy scored a team-best 15 points in the setback.
  • Power-Cassidy was Patriot League Honorable Mention for the fifth time this season on Monday afternoon. She paced the conference in scoring (24.0) and in free throws (10) last week while shooting 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the field and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) from deep.
  • With a win against the Leopards, the Crusaders can clinch at least a share of the 2023-24 Patriot League Regular-Season Championship. Holy Cross has captured 11 outright regular-season titles and a share of the conference title once with their last coming during the 2021-22 season.
  • This season, Holy Cross is 15-2 when holding opponents under 60 points in a game. When allowing 60 points or more, the Crusaders are 1-10.
SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS (10-18, 5-12 PL): 
  • Lafayette has lost two straight games and 12 of their last 16 contests including a 56-45 setback to Bucknell on Saturday. Makayla Andrews scored a game-best 22 points while Kayla Drummond secured a career-high matching 15 rebounds in the defeat.
  • Andrews ranks fifth in the Patriot League in free throw percentage (76.6), sixth in field goal percentage (42.9) and seventh in scoring (13.5).
  • Across 17 conference games as a team Lafayette ranks last in scoring (56.0), scoring margin (-5.5), assist-to-turnover ratio (0.79), assists (188) and assists per game (11.1).
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 66-12 (.846) in the series against Lafayette which began in 1986. The Crusaders have won nine straight meetings against the Leopards and are 26-5 (.839) against the Leopards over their last 31 matchups.
  • During their last meeting on Jan. 17, 2022, the Crusaders rolled to an 80-57 win in Easton. Junior Lindsay Berger scored 16 points in 19 minutes off the bench going 7-of-10 (70%) from the floor.
