The Holy Cross men's basketball team will begin Patriot League Tournament action when it travels to Army West Point for the first round on Tuesday, March 5, at 6 p.m. The game between the Crusaders and the Black Knights will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.
Holy Cross enters the contest as the No. 9 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. The Crusaders concluded the regular season with an overall record of 9-22, while finishing in a tie for eighth in the conference with a 6-12 mark in league games. Senior guard
Joe Octave leads the team by averaging 14.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Junior forward
Caleb Kenney has posted 11.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, while senior guard
Bo Montgomery has added 10.6 points, 4.6 boards and 2.9 assists per contest.
Army stands 10-21 overall this season, and tied with Holy Cross for eighth place in the Patriot League with a 6-12 mark in conference play. Freshman forward Josh Scovens leads the team by averaging 11.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest. Freshman guard Ryan Curry has added 10.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, with junior guard T.J. Small chipping in 9.1 points and 3.0 boards per contest.
The winner of the Holy Cross-Army game will move on to the Patriot League quarterfinals, where it will play at No. 1 seed Colgate on Thursday, March 7, at 7:00 p.m.
