HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Bucknell scored a pair of runs in the second to take an early 2-0 lead.
  • The Crusaders responded immediately in the third inning to knot things up. Junior third baseman Brendan Jones drew a leadoff walk and freshman catcher Colin Brown singled to put a pair of runners on before junior first baseman Chris Baillargeon singled through the left side to drive in a run. An RBI groundout then evened things up at 2-2.
  • The score remained deadlocked until the top of the fifth, when Brown's sac fly scored Jones to make it a 3-2 game.
  • The Crusaders tacked on four more runs in the sixth to open things up. A double steal scored the first run of the frame, and Jones drove in a run to extend the lead to 5-2. After a fielder's choice, Bailalrgeon hit another RBI single to extend the lead to 7-2.
  • After right fielder Grant Voytovich reached on an error, he scored on an RBI single to bring the Bison within 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Holy Cross put up four more runs in the seventh inning. Back-to-back RBI singles from junior shortstop Jimmy King and Jones pushed the lead to 9-3, and after a walk was issued, Baillargeon's two-run single made it an 11-3 game.
  • Bucknell scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Crusaders prevented any further rally.
