HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sophomore Kaitlyn Flanagan's third assist over the opening two minutes to Power-Cassidy gave the Crusaders a short lived 6-3 edge. Loyola went on a 14-2 run over the next four and a half minutes to build a 17-8 advantage before leading 18-12 after one.
  • A 7-2 start to the second by Loyola gave them their biggest first half margin 11 points, 25-14 at the 5:29 mark. Still in front by double digits with 1:13 left, the Crusaders scored the final six points of the stanza getting a senior Cara McCormack triple, a junior Lindsay Berger bucket and one Power-Cassidy freebie making it 32-27 at the intermission.
  • Power-Cassidy cut into the margin with a layup to pull her team within three, 32-29. Loyola scored nine consecutive markers to reestablish an 11 point lead 40-29 at the media stoppage. The Crusaders notched only four points in the third as they trailed 43-31 after three.
  • An 11-5 start to the fourth put the guests in the driver's seat at 54-36 late.
