HAMILTON, N.Y. – Senior guard
Joe Octave totaled 13 points and five rebounds, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Colgate 85-55 at Cotterell Court. The Crusaders fall to 8-18 overall and 5-8 in the Patriot League, while the Raiders improve to 18-8 on the season and 12-1 in the conference.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Holy Cross made only 33.8 percent of its field goal attempts and 27.3 percent of its three-pointers on the night.
• Colgate was able to connect on 54.1 percent of its shots from the floor and 52.2 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc.
• Freshman guard
DeAndre Williams finished the game with 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while junior forward
Caleb Kenney added 11 points, five boards, three blocks and three assists.
• Ryan Moffatt and Keegan Records led the Raiders with 15 points each.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The game was tied at 12-12 early on, when Colgate used an 11-3 run to go in front by eight (23-15).
• The Raiders were later up by seven (28-21) with 6:17 left before the break, but Holy Cross used an 8-2 spurt to close to within one (30-29).
• It was still a one-point game (34-33) at the 1:42-mark, before Colgate hit back-to-back three-pointers to take a 40-33 advantage into the locker room.
• Early in the second half, the Raiders led 45-39 with 16:40 on the clock.
• Colgate then scored six straight points to extend its lead to double figures, and was later up 61-48 with nine minutes remaining.
• But the Crusaders then went cold from the field and the Raiders pulled away down the stretch for the victory.

• Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 17, when it plays host to Army West Point at 2 p.m.
