The Holy Cross men's basketball team will play its second straight home game when it faces Central Connecticut at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. The contest between the Crusaders and the Blue Devils will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+. There will be a Holiday Toy Drive to benefit 508 Forever Young, where any fan who donates a new, unwrapped toy for kids aged 6-12 can receive a complimentary ticket. It will also be Youth Day, featuring a post-game autograph session with the team.
Holy Cross stands 5-4 so far this year, and is coming off a 68-67 victory over Harvard on Wednesday night. Freshman guard
Max Green leads the team by averaging 13.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, while hitting 41.9 percent of his three-point attempts. Sophomore forward
Joe Nugent has added 10.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest, while senior forward
Caleb Kenney is chipping in with 10.3 points and 2.5 boards per game.
Central Connecticut owns an overall record of 5-3 on the year and is currently on a three-game winning streak. Senior guard Jordan Jones has led the team by averaging 12.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Senior forward Jayden Brown is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 11.3 points and 3.6 boards per contest.Â
After the game with Central Connecticut, Holy Cross will take 10 days off for finals before returning to action at Quinnipiac on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
