Women's soccer announces class of 2029

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head women's soccer coach Ben Graham has announced that seven student-athletes will join the Crusaders in the fall of 2025. Cara Bubonovich (Natick, Mass.), Daniella Cairo (Oceanside, N.Y.), Alessia Cerulo (Kinnelon, N.J.), Paige Flanders (Norwell, Mass.), Aubrey Haesche (New City, N.Y.), Marissa Kashian (Wellesley, Mass.) and Abby Lorion (Wellesley, Mass.) make up the class of 2029.

"We are delighted to add this class of players to our current squad and are incredibly excited to welcome them all to campus in July 2025," said Graham. "As well as being excellent players, they are all wonderful people, who we feel will add to the culture of Holy Cross Women's Soccer. We cannot wait to see them on the field and in the classroom, working hard and competing."

Bubonovich is a 5'8" midfielder, who played four years of varsity soccer at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Mass. She served as a team captain during her senior year and led the team to four ISL Championship victories and two NEPSAC Class A Championship wins in 2021 and 2022. During her career she scored six goals and had 15 assists for 27 points. She also plays club soccer for FC Stars Blue where she has led that squad to two ECNL New England Conference Championships wins in 2024 and 2023. She is a three-time ECNL New England First Team All-Conference selection (2021, 2022 and 2023), a 2024 Second Team All-Conference selection, and 2023 ECNL National Selection Game Participant.

Cairo is a 5'2" defender, who played three years of varsity soccer at Oceanside High School in Oceanside, N.Y. She served as a team captain during her senior year and led the team to the first Nassau County AAA Championship win since 1976. She helped the squad to the 2024 Long Island Championship qualifiers. Cairo scored one goal and had four assists for 6 points in her senior season to add to her 25 career points (5g, 15a). She was a 2022 All-Nassau County AAA selection and a 2023 All-County honorable mention. Cairo also played club soccer with SUSA FC.

Cerulo is a 5'8" midfielder, who played four years of varsity soccer at Kinnelon High School in Kinnelon, N.J. She served as a team captain during her senior year and helped the team to a NJAC Conference Championship in 2024. She is a 2024 All-State First Team, 2023 All-State Third Team, three-time All-County First Team and four-time All-NJAC Conference First Team selection. She was also chosen for the 2024 Morris County Senior All-Star Game and named the team MVP twice in her career. Cerulo holds multiple school records at Kinnelon for most career goals (91), most career points (234) and most single-game assists (5). To add to her athletic accolades, she had 52 assists in her career; 21 of those assists were in her senior season along with 35 goals for 91 points to end the 2024 campaign. The New Jersey native also plays club soccer with Match Fit Academy where she was a three-time ECNL First Team North Atlantic All-Conference selection and helped the squad to four ECNL playoff appearances. In 2022, she was chosen for the ECNL National Selection Game.

Flanders is a 5'7" midfielder, who played four years of varsity soccer at Norwell High School in Norwell, Mass. She served as a team captain during her senior season and helped the Clippers to two MIAA State Division III Championship victories in 2021 and 2023. Flanders is a four-time Division III League All-Star and a three-time All-Scholastic selection (2022, 2023 & 2024). This past season she was named All-State, Eastern Massachusetts All-New England and Eastern Massachusetts First Team All-Star. She also plays club soccer for the South Shore Select.

Haesche is a 5'8" goalkeeper, who played four years of varsity soccer at Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, N.Y. She served as a team captain during her senior year and led the team to two Class AA State Championship victories in 2022 and 2024. Haesche is a three-time All-County, Class AA All-League and All-Section selection (2022, 2023 & 2024). In her senior season she played as a center back scoring eight goals and making three assists for 19 points in 21 games played. The rest of her high school career she spent in goal playing in 49 games with 33 career shutouts and a 33-1-2 record. Haesche also plays club soccer for World Class FC where they made an ECNL Playoffs Elite 8 appearance in 2022 and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2023.

Kashian is a 5'3" defender, who played four years of varsity soccer at the Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, Mass. She helped the team to four NEPSAC Class B playoff appearances finally taking home the championship in 2024. She was named NEPSAC Junior All-Star and was an NEPSAC Honorable Mention in 2023. Kashian also plays club soccer for the South Shore Select. In 2024, her team made the Girls Academy National Playoffs. In 2022, she made the DPL National Championship with New England Surf.

Lorion is a 5'5" midfielder, who played four years of varsity soccer at The Rivers School in Weston, Mass. She served as a team captain during her senior year and played in more than 70 career games for over 5,500 minutes. She helped the team to NEPSAC Class B Quarter-Finals in 2021, 2023 and 2024. Lorion plays club soccer for New England Surf where they were 2022 DPL National finalists. She also played for the Surf Select National Team where she was named the 2023 MVP and helped the squad to a 2023 Surf Select San Diego Tournament victory.
