Women’s soccer drop 2-0 decision to Loyola (Md.)

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team hosted Loyola (Md.) for their Pink game. The Greyhounds claimed the 2-0 win over the Crusaders.

IN GOAL:

  • Holy Cross: Julia Walsh (L, 5-8-1), 2 saves
  • Loyola (Md.): Brigid Mulholland (W, 6-4-5), 4 saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • In the first half, Loyola (Md.) got on the board early with a header goal scored by Baylee DeSmit off a free kick at 5:17.
  • The Greyhounds led the Crusaders 5-4 in shots and 1-0 in corners through 45 minutes.
  • In the second half, the Greyhounds extended their lead with a second DeSmit goal at 70:54 to ultimately take the 2-0 win over the Crusaders.
  • Holy Cross led Loyola (Md.) 13-6 in shots while both teams had two corners a piece to conclude the competition.
