WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's ice hockey was shutout by Army West Point, 1-0, in its first Atlantic Hockey matchup of the season.

With the loss, Holy Cross moves to 1-2-0 overall, with a 0-1-0 Atlantic Hockey record. Army improves to 1-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Atlantic Hockey play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams were scoreless through the first two frames, with the Crusaders out shooting the Black Knights, 24-11.
- Army found the back of the net for the lone score of the game with 5:15 remaining in regulation on a four-on-four.

BEYOND THE BOX:
- Holy Cross killed off all three power play opportunities that Army drew. The Crusaders are now 18-for-19 (.947) on the kill, which ranks fifth in the nation among teams that have played 4+ games.
- The Crusaders were 43-24 at the faceoff dot, led by sophomore Jack Stockfish who recorded a .708-win percentage.
- Sophomore Ty Gagno recorded five blocked shots on the night, a career high. Holy Cross finished the night with 16 blocks.
- Senior Thomas Gale finished the night with 27 saves, 16 of which came in the third period.

- The two teams will meet again tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
- Prior to the matchup, Holy Cross will retire the jersey of alum Tyler McGregor '06.
