EASTON, Pa. - The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Lafayette College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Rappolt Field.
The Leopards (4-5, 2-1 PL) took control of the contest early, outshooting the Crusaders (2-7, 0-3 PL) 13-2 in the first half, including 7-0 in the second quarter. The Crusaders held the Leopards to just four shots in the second half.
Lafayette's first score, the eventual game-winner by Lea Good, came at the 9:12 mark of the first quarter. Leopards' Alex Darrah sealed the game with a tip-in goal in the third quarter.
Senior
Brooke Ross finished the afternoon in goal with eight saves, while Lafayette's Raffi Fragomeni had two saves in the shutout win.
The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, October 3, when they welcome Merrimack College to The Hill at 3 p.m. for their Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night.
