PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Brown University in overtime, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at the Goldberger Family Field.
The Bears (2-0) came out strong in the first half, outshooting the Crusaders (1-2) 15-2, while drawing seven corners.
Senior
Katie Guden scored her second goal of the season to take a 1-0 lead for the Crusaders with 14:06 remaining in the fourth quarter. Sound defense by Guden, senior

Julia Carrozza forced a turnover by the Bears below the 23-meter line. Carrozza carried the ball five yards before finding Guden inside the circle, where a short stick shot by Guden found the opposite corner of the goal.
Brown's Lucy Adams tied the game with 1:09 remaining in regulation. A hard foul in the circle awarded the Bears a penalty stroke 2:04 into the overtime period, which Imogen Goven was able to convert on to end the game.
Senior
Brooke Ross finished the afternoon in goal with a career-high 18 saves, while Brown's Kylee Del Monte had two saves in the win.
The Crusaders return to action on Friday, September 8 when they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to face Wagner College at 3 p.m.
