The Holy Cross football team received a No. 5 national ranking in the
Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll, as announced on Monday, Aug. 7.
Holy Cross returns to the gridiron in 2023 after a record-setting 2022 campaign, in which the Crusaders secured their fourth consecutive Patriot League championship. Holy Cross won a program-record 12 games and finished with a 12-1 record, falling in the NCAA FCS quarterfinals to eventual national champion South Dakota State. The Crusaders posted their first 11-0 regular season since 1991.
Entering 2023, Holy Cross has won 16 straight regular-season contests, 17 consecutive Patriot League games and two straight games against FBS opponents. The Crusaders have also won an NCAA playoff game each of the last two seasons.
The Crusaders return three All-Americans and 11 All-Patriot League honorees from 2022.
Holy Cross' season gets underway on Sept. 2 with a home game against Merrimack College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Fitton Field.
