HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Colgate University, 22-9, in Patriot League action Friday evening at Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium.
Dean DiNanno led the way for the Crusaders (1-13, 0-8 PL) with four points on three goals and an assist. The hat trick was his third of the season, and second in two games.
The Crusaders saw
Matt Major,
T.J. Lynch,
Jayce Lambert,
Billy Carlini,
John Mitchell, and
William Stahl each score a goal in the contest.
Cameron Magalotti recorded an assist, while
Thomas McIntire recorded two.
Michael Rincon led the defense with two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Face Off Specialist
Jordan Naso went 7-15 at the 'X' with six ground balls, followed closely by
Connor DePiero, who went 5-16 with four pick ups.
Stuart Pollard went 2-5 in his attempts at the 'X'.
All four goalkeepers saw time in the net in the contest. Junior
Dawson Friers got the start, recording two saves in his 27:42 of work.
Liam Ray came in in relief for the next 26:46, making three saves.
Sean Miller and
JR Long played the last 5:32, with Long recording a save.
Colgate (2-9, 2-6 PL) was led by Michael Minicus, who recorded seven points on five goals and two assists. Hunter Drouin followed with five points in a game that saw 13 different Raiders record points. Netminders Matt LaCombe and Chris Burns combined for 15 saves in the win.
This marks the end of the 2023 men's lacrosse season.
