LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior
Henna Brennan scored with 2:14 remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie and lift the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a 22-21 victory over Bucknell at Graham Field. The Crusaders improve to 7-10 on the season and 4-5 in the Patriot League, while the Bison fall to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the conference.
With the win, Holy Cross clinches its first berth to the Patriot League Tournament since 2018. The Crusaders will be the No. 5 seed in the tournament and play at No. 4 seed Lehigh in the quarterfinals on Sunday, April 30, at 12 p.m.
Brennan finished the game with three goals and three assists, while sophomore
Sally Zinsner had a team-best four goals and one assist. Senior

Kate Burns (three goals), junior
Lauren Drillock (two goals, four assists), senior
Jenna Giardina (two goals, one assist), sophomore
Ella Kittredge (two goals) and sophomore
Isabela Miller (three assists) also had multiple points for Holy Cross. Junior
Tori Cini made nine saves in goal, including a pair of key stops in the final two minutes to preserve the victory.
Bucknell opened the game by jumping out to an 8-5 lead with 11:51 remaining in the second quarter. The Crusaders responded by scoring the next four goals and the score was eventually tied 12-12 at halftime.
The game was later tied at 13-13 early in the third quarter, when Bucknell ran off five straight goals to go up 18-13. Holy Cross came right back with five straight goals of its own, but the Bison were able to regain a two-goal lead (21-19) with 6:35 left in the fourth quarter.
Drillock and Fabrizi then scored to tie up the game at 21-21, before Brennan netted the final goal of the afternoon to put the Crusaders in front for good. Cini followed with saves on shots by Taylor Kopan and Allie Boyce down the stretch to clinch the win.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The 22 goals scored are Holy Cross' most in a single game since it defeated Albany 22-9 on April 28, 1999, and only two shy of the school single-game record (24 vs. Marist on April 25, 1998).
• The Crusaders posted their fourth straight win over the Bison, to tie up the all-time series at 16-16.
• Holy Cross' four Patriot League victories this year tie for the third-most in program history.
