Men's lacrosse set to host UMass Lowell

The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team will host UMass Lowell in their final home contest of the regular season on Tuesday, April 18 at Kuzniewski Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and will stream live on ESPN+.

HOLY CROSS (0-12, 0-7 Patriot League) AT A GLANCE:
  • The Crusaders fell to Bucknell in their last game on Saturday, April 15, 18-12.
  • Dean DiNanno led the offense with five points on five assists, followed by Thomas McIntire, who recorded his seventh hat trick of the season. 
  • Matt Major, T.J. Lynch, Cameron Magalotti, and William Stahl each recorded two points in the contest. Baker Reding and Henry Sheehan added a goal each to their season totals as well.
  • McIntire led the way with two caused turnovers, while Jordan Naso tallied a team-high four ground balls. Dawson Friers recorded a career-high 24 saves and picked up an assist in the contest.
  • Thomas McIntire extended his goal streak to 17 games with his three goals on Saturday. McIntire's streak, which began on March, 26, 2022 against Navy, has seen him tally 48 goals and 12 assists for 70 points.
  • McIntire is tied for 18th in the country in goals with 34, and is tied for 22nd in goals per game with 2.83. 
  • Friers is first in the country with 189 total saves and in saves per game with 15.75. Friers' .508 save percentage places him 39th in the national rankings.

SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL (0-10, 0-5 America East):
  • In their last game against America East opponent Merrimack, the Riverhawks fell to the Warriors, 13-10. The Crusaders played the Warriors to a 14-9 final back on Feb. 8.
  • The Riverhawks are led on offense by Nick Harvath, who carries a team-leading 9 assists and 19 points into the matchup. Midfielder Riley Lawhorn has posted a team-leading 17 goals, while Alexander Chairs leads the defense with 7 caused turnovers this season. Faceoff specialist Devin German leads the squad with 50 ground balls.
  • Netminder Luke Renaud has started all 10 games for Lowell, bringing a .470 save percentage and 16.35 goals-against average into the weekend.

LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • All time, Holy Cross is 10-0 against UMass Lowell.
  • The last time they met, April 20, 2022, the Crusaders defeated the Riverhawks, 15-14.
