SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — The Holy Cross baseball team fell short against Seton Hall by a score of 7-3 on Sunday, March 19.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore left fielder Connor Cooney drew a walk to lead off the second inning, and sophomore shortstop Brendan Jones hit a one-out single. After a pair of stolen bases to move the two runners to second and third, the two scored after a Pirates error, giving Holy Cross an early 2-0 lead.
- The Pirates tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth, and used a five-run fifth to jump ahead, 7-2.
- In the top of the eighth, freshman center fielder Jake Jaszcz walked to lead off the frame, and sophomore first baseman Sean Scanlon and freshman right fielder Jack Toomey hit back-to-back singles to score Jaszcz and make the score 7-3.
DUE UP:
- Holy Cross is scheduled to host the University of Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 21.
- First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
