The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this weekend, traveling to American for a 2:00 p.m. game on Saturday, Feb. 11. The contest between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be shown live by the Patriot League on ESPN+.

Holy Cross currently has a mark of 5-8 in the Patriot League and an overall record of 8-18. In conference action, the Crusaders have defeated Bucknell (twice), Boston University, Loyola (Md.) and Navy, while falling to Lafayette (twice), Lehigh (twice), American, Army, Colgate and Navy. Holy Cross currently ranks second in the Patriot League in three-point field goal percentage defense (32.2 percent), while standing third in three-point field goal percentage (36.5 percent) and fourth in blocked shots (2.9 blocks per game).

Senior forward Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per game, in addition to hitting 49.3 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard Will Batchelder has added 12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest, while junior guard Joe Octave is putting up 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

American currently stands 15-9 overall and 7-6 in the Patriot League. The Eagles have lost two of their last three games, including a 60-54 setback at Boston University on Wednesday night. Junior  forward Matt Rogers has led the team by averaging 12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while making 63.2 percent of his shots from the floor. Junior forward Johnny O'Neil has put up 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per contest, with junior guard Colin Smalls adding 9.8 points and 2.3 boards per game.

Following the contest with American, the Crusaders will return home to face Boston University on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 7:00 p.m.
