Men’s lacrosse set to open home slate Saturday against Dartmouth

 The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team will play their home-opener on Saturday, Feb. 25 against Dartmouth. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Kuzniewski Field.

HOLY CROSS (0-4, 0-0 Patriot League) AT A GLANCE:
  • The Crusaders fell to Mercer last Saturday, 15-6.
  • Freshman Tyler Marmo led the way with two goals and an assist for three points. Seniors Thomas McIntire and Cameron Magalotti, and sophomores Baker Reding and Michael Bonomo also recorded points.
  • Freshman Julian Jenkins led the way for the defense with two caused turnovers and a ground ball pickup.
  • The faceoff tandem of junior Connor DePiero and freshman Jordan Naso went 13-22 at the X with eight ground balls.
  • Junior goalkeeper Dawson Friers ranks third in the country with 58 totals saves and is 12th in the country in saves per game with 14.50.
  • McInire is tied for ninth in the country in goals with 12 and is tied for 29th in goals per game with 3.00.
  • McIntire is also on a nine-game scoring streak that started against Navy on March 26, 2022. Over the nine games, he has tallied 26 goals and four assists for a total of 30 points.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH (1-0, 0-0 Ivy League):
  • Dartmouth is coming off a 2022 season that saw them go 4-9 with a 2-5 Ivy League record.
  • The Big Green opened their 2023 campaign last Saturday with a, 11-10 win over Merrimack.
  • Netminder Sam Cooper was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week after recording ten saves in the win, including four during the Big Green's comeback in the fourth quarter.
  • Colin McGill and Tommy Rogan led the way for Dartmouth, combining for six goals and five assists.
  • Dartmouth is 34-41 all-time against Patriot League teams.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET:
  • All time, Holy Cross is 2-31 against Dartmouth.
  • The last time they met, April 29, 2014, the Crusaders fell to the Big Green, 17-12.
  • The year before, on April 23, 2013, the Crusaders were victorious, taking the matchup 11-10.
