Crusaders take 1-0 loss to New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. — The Holy Cross women's ice hockey hit the road to take on New Hampshire (UNH) in a Hockey East Friday night showdown. After a very physcial game the Wildcats came out the close 1-0 win over the Crusaders.

The Wildcats led the Crusaders 8-7 in shots on goal in the first period with senior goalie Madison Beck making seven saves in the period. UNH took a total of 16 shots in the second, 12 which were on goal to give Beck 19 saves heading to the third period. The Wildcats took eight shots on goal in the third period with Holy Cross shooting six. Beck made a total of 27 saves on the outing.

The Crusaders went on the power-play three times in the competition with UNH getting one 5-on-4 opportunity. Neither team converted on the advantage.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • UNH got on the board first at 10:48 to end the first period with a 1-0 lead.
  • Neither team scored in the second or third period with the Wildcats taking the 1-0 win.

UP NEXT: 

  • Holy Cross continues on the road for the second game of the weekend at Maine  on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 4 pm. in Orono, Maine at Harold Alfond Sports Arena.
