SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Bryant, 2-1, on Sunday, Sept. 4.
The Crusaders (0-4-2) had seven total shots on goal to the Bulldogs' six.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bryant (2-4) got on the board first in the 32nd minute off a goal from Anna Carson; the Bulldogs held Holy Cross scoreless in the first half.
- Junior forward Ellie Zern's attempt with about 27 minutes to go was saved by Bryant goalkeeper Kathryn McNeil.
- Shortly thereafter, Zern had a corner kick and connected with junior midfielder Sydney Baldwin, who one-timed it past McNeil to even the score at 1-1.
- Emma Pedolzky snuck across a goal to give Bryant a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Baldwin's goal was the first of her career.
- Zern's assist marked her first point of the season.
