Field hockey downed by Boston University

ALLSTON, Mass. – The Holy Cross field hockey team fell to Patriot League opponent Boston University on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Harvard's Berylson Family Field.

The loss sends the Crusaders to 2-7, 0-2 PL and the Terriers to 4-5, 2-0 PL on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Martu Coulo of the Terriers secured an early lead at 2:35 of the first quarter.
  • After two scoreless quarters, BU's second goal of the game came from Rachel Borzymowski off of a penalty corner at 6:04 of the fourth quarter.
  • Borzymowski capitalized on another penalty corner opportunity at 12:15 of the fourth quarter, bringing the Terriers' total to three goals.
OUTSIDE THE BOX:
  • With the win, BU head coach Sally Starr earned her 500th win as a head coach.
  • Junior goaltender Brooke Ross faced 11 shots on the day.
  • Ross saved two shots in the contest.
  • The Crusaders had one corner opportunity, compared to BU's nine.
UP NEXT:
  • Holy Cross will host Davidson on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 12 pm on the Hart Turf Field.
